Getting Ready For The Rendezvous!
Gun Blogger Rendezvous VI is just a little over six weeks away, so you should be finalizing your plans and preparation. One of Bea's favorite activities at Reno is shooting Steel Challenge stages, and we spent some time recently shooting her Mk III Hunter to make sure it is working right. I ran a couple magazines through it to check how the sights are set, and then Mom shot it while I stuffed magazines for her. We were running some very old bulk pack ammo and found a few duds, but the gun was functioning well even when a squib load fired. The slide release extension that we had added was really handy for locking the slide back on the failures to fire, and Mom can drop the slide very easily with this simple modification.
Bea was wearing out the target just above the bullseye, so I think she is going make a good showing on steel plates. She also will be bringing her .380s and her Ruger Blackhawk .45 Convertible. She will be packing plenty of .45 ammo, so you all can give it a try before the raffle on Saturday night. Click Here To Register if you haven't already done so!
