You Need A Hi-Point!
You probably remember that Bea won a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine at the Gun Blogger Rendezvous last year. It has made a few trips to the range to be tried out by shooting buddies, and last week I finally got to shoot this fine little firearm. Hi-Points have a reputation for being extremely reliable, working every time you pull the trigger; and they do it for a low budget price.
I fired a few shots to see how the sights were set, and bumped up the rear sight two clicks. I put up a new target and shot at the center bull five times, then walked around the target at all five bullseyes for a total of fifteen shots from twenty five yards. We didn't have sandbags with us, so I was hand holding the gun from the bench.
The results are impressive, given my nearly sixty year old eyes with iron sights. This carbine definitely deserves to have a scope put on top! One of these would be a fine weapon around the farm for dealing with skunks, coons, coyotes and possums. It would be a great little gun for doing head shots on rabbits, too.
Hi-Point is donating a carbine again this year for one of the prizes at the Gun Blogger Rendezvous, so you need to sign up with Mr. Completely and head to Reno. Click one of the links here to download the registration form, or click the Gun Blogger Rendezvous photo on the left side of the page.
Hi-Point Carbines are available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.
UPDATE! Danno gives us a demonstration of his Hi-Point in a carbine match! (Click) Thanks, Danno!
