Get Out The Sewing Machine!
Mom still has the same sewing machine that I remember her using when I was just a little guy. She used to make clothes for us, and it has done innumerable repairs over the years. Dad even used it, making dozens of quilts with it after he retired. Mom's latest creation is an armchair caddy for keeping her remote controls handy for the television. It has hook-and-loop fastener sandwiched in the middle to keep it in place...
...and a pocket on the back where she can keep her home security system handy. The jeans were from the local Goodwill store, and the legs are used for making gun rugs.

1911, condition 1. And Mom is left handed, if the caddy position is any indication.
This one is a 1911-22 German Sport Guns, which is the same as a Sig 1911-22 with a different name on it. It has an ambidextrous safety, and Mom shoots it (and her LCP) with either hand at the range. Her left index finger is withered, so when shooting left handed she uses the middle finger on the trigger. It works well with this gun and the Ruger LCP. She is SERIOUS about her practice at the range. It is condition 1 all the time, and this is the gun that follows her around the house.
