.375 H&H - that'll sure keep the varmints out of your garden......

We haven't had any mooses, but the racoons wiped out our little sweetcorn patch last night. I need to check the garden tonight before I turn in. That .375 has a fine reputation as a moose-getter. I think .35 Whelen would do the job, too. I have no idea why those calibers appeal to me, because I will never hunt moose. I really do like the effect of .30-06 on a racoon, and you can reach way out there to touch them.

Years ago I lived out West & developed some 110 gr HP loads for my 30-06.
After the first coyote got one, the rest wised up and departed the area!

A 110 would be zippy enough to turn one of those varmints inside out!
