No Sweep Rifle Rest: A Shooting Accessory You Will Like

The Shoot Boss at the Carmi Ladyseed in September goes prepared for shooters with various levels of impairment. We weren't expecting Pattie Ann to participate, but she wanted to shoot, and I didn't have anything to use as a rest.  Instructor Mutti pulled this No Sweep rest out of her equipment box, and Pattie was in business.  I e-mailed the maker in Lexington, Kentucky and we soon had one of our own.

We added a pad to the adjustable cross piece and it was ready to use.  A bean bag under the pistol grip allows Pattie to anchor her shots, and she shot a score of 184 on one of her AQT's (Army Qualification Test), so maybe a Rifleman patch is in her future.

The No Sweep rest works great for shooting pistols, too.  You can order one by emailing fourmoa (at) gmail (dot) com.

I don't know if you have ever seen one, but Hornady makes something similar. It's called a "delta rest" and is considerably more compact. I don't know if it would suit your needs, but it's worth a look.

That looks like a good accessory. I'll have to order one.
