A Nice Fairbanks...
I was looking back through photos, and found some raw video from Pinckneyville that hadn't been used. This video was shot in 2011, and it's a pretty good engine, with lots of parts exposed.

I imagine it was a real challenge to keep all of those parts adjusted! Any idea what this was used for?

Running a buzz saw was really common, and also powering elevators to put ear corn into a crib. Smaller engines were used for pumping water and running washing machines. They could run a small corn sheller, and fanning mills. This one is big enough to run a bur mill for making corn meal.
When I was young my maternal Grandmother had an old Maytag four poster wringer washer that was gasoline powered. My uncles put an electric motor on it, so she could do laundry inside - that sure made her happy!
