This guy is amazing! One turn, back up, hook up, pull up, and it's right on! I can tie my shoes and take a shirt off the hanger. Love the stack talk of the old Cat.
When I was in high school I was friends with the son of the local grist mill owner. We got "upstairs" with the admonition to "be careful" as there were NO GUARDS on anything. OSHA would have a screaming hissy fit over this! :)
The mill had originally been water powered, but by then the wheel was removed and a big electric motor powered the shop. It was driven by a flat belt & used wooden pinion gears to convert horizontal motion to vertical to drive the grind stones. What a piece of history it was!
