...but it appears to be deceased. No cloud of blue smoke behind it. These were a good car for poor boys. The old slant sixes seemingly ran forever, and good parts were available from junkers all over the landscape. If you have a hankering to try your hand at resurrections, drop me an email and I'll tell you where it is.
I don't know - does it still have floorboards? :)

$250 car, needing $10,000 in repairs. I'll knock on the door and check it out if you really mean it. It does look good from the road. We had a neighbor in Emma, KY back in the 1970's that had one of these. His wife drove it because he lost his license from driving drunk. He fell out of his government trailer when he was drunk, and broke a leg. His wife would take off work to drive him to the VA hospital. We left before he was healed up. He may still be in a cast if he didn't lay off the whiskey. It's funny what things like this make you remember. They had nice kids. It hurts to remember them, and the way he was. Crap. Now I'm depressed.
ReplyDeleteDon't bother, I was just being a wise guy.
ReplyDeleteUsually cars that sit like that sink into the ground & the floorboards disappear pretty quick. Seen too many like that in back yards - but not for sale as "I'm gonna fix it up some day" mentality has a good grip!
