We Retrieved The Explorer From The Woods...

We had a home invasion with lots of damage to the house, mostly broken windows.  The perp entered our attached garage though one of the broken windows and stole our '08 Explorer, backing out though the garage door.  If he had not found the key to the car he would have entered the house, and that would have been much worse.  He drove away on our woods lane because the police were arriving and he wrecked the car 1/4 mile north of the house, where he was taken into custody by a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy.

  1. My God, that's a real mess. Were you home at the time? The only good part is that nobody was hurt & he was caught!

  3. Glad to hear everyone is okay. Kudos to the deputies that responded right away.

When calling in the claim to your car insurance company, they will probably ask if the perp was wearing a seatbelt when he crashed.

    Take care.

  4. Wow, it's amazing it turned out so well, considering how badly things like this sometimes end up. Let's hope they throw away the key once he's in the jail!

  5. B: We usually have the domes turned off, so the open doors were not a problem. The passenger door would not close until one of the wrecker crew gave it a mighty heave. He cautioned me not to open it; it would really fly out.

Retirement plan: I have been a wage slave for over 50 years working for the day I can stay home and do what I want to do. The perp now has free health care, free meals, four walls, janitorial services, a library, a gym, people just like him all around him every day. Crap, it makes working for a living sound stupid.
