Crankin' It Up: William Tell Overture, 1915 and 1909

The part you know is after the 12 minute mark, but this is a good set and is worth listening to.  In addition to thinking about the Lone Ranger when I hear this, I also think of Spike Jones.

This video is from a few years back, but I did not have it up on YouTube.  I can't remember if I ever had it up, or if I took it down over a copyright claim.  This time it went up with no trouble, so enjoy it before someone throws a claim on it. Brat gets up and promenades for side 4.  Sure do miss that old buddy.

Ruger's Auctions To Benefit The USA Shooting Team And The Light Foundation

                                                                           $2025
Here are a couple good ones again this week from Ruger.  The 25th Anniversary .44 Carbine is attracting predictable collector bidding, and the M77 in .300 WSM is drawing bids from more prudent bidders.  Both are worth watching.  Click on the photos to go the GunBroker pages and place your bids.  Both guns will sell mid-day, Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Tuesday Torque: Mechanized Shucking And Shredding!

I guess this beats shucking by hand out of corn shocks, and chopping fodder with a corn knife, but it still ain't easy! Holy Cow, farming is hard work!  This is a Rosenthal Corn Shucker and Shredder, and you had to bring the corn shocks to it.  You still had to put the ears in the crib, and then you still had to shell the corn off the cobs.  Mechanical corn pickers were a real game changer on the farm.

Back To The Old Grind!

A History Lesson By Hickok45

Here's a good one!  Not just blasting away at 2-Liters and steel targets, but a look at the progression of arms used by the U.S. Military.

Sunshine On A Cloudy Day

You can find bright spots, even in a downpour.  In this stack we have black walnut, sassafras, sweetgum (2), and shining sumac. Foresters are always looking up, so we trip often.

The End Of A Perfect Day

Yesterday was a great day from beginning to end.  Today was good, too, with new stacks of firewood in front of the house.  Gray sunset today, though.  Good enough, and the home fires are burning!
