Lucky Gunner and Mr. Completely have arranged for a new activity this year. Attendees will try their skill at an indoor simulated steel event, shooting at paper in a four lane bay at Reno Guns and Range. Sounds like a good time, and I wish I could be there. This sounds like something that would be good to do at indoor ranges during our Midwest winters.

Gun Blogger Rendezvous IX: It Begins!

Today, Mr. Completely and KeeWee will have arrived in Reno, and Kevin, too.  Zeke is on his way, but this time is like the Apollo missions returning to Earth.  Communications are blacked out as the travellers head to the annual congregation.  I can't go, because Susan and I are taking care of our mothers, and our hearts are way out west as we stay in the Midwest.

Zeke has completed another holster that will go to the winner of the Ruger Hunter pistol, and I wish I could see it in person.

Wouldn't these look great on your belt?!!!  If you can go, but haven't signed up, call the Silver Legacy and get a room.  Head to Reno!  Friday, everyone will head to the Washoe County Range after breakfast for shooting from 45 feet to 900 yards.  Show and Tell will be Friday night.  Saturday will be Steel Challenge shooting at the Washoe Range, and Saturday night is the big raffle, when you will be a big winner!  Four firearms, plus lots of other goods!  Sig-Sauer, Ruger, Winchester, and Hi-Point! Big News For Gun Blogger Rendezvous, September 4-7, 2014

Blog followers can breathe a sigh of relief about the annual Gun Blogger Rendezvous in Reno, Nevada.  GBR organizer, Mike Gallion has been in and out of the hospital for some serious issues lately, and the previous beneficiary of the annual fundraiser had to be dropped, but now there is great news!   Kevin Baker of the Smallest Minority has jumped in with both feet, and he will be assisting Mike in organizing the Rendezvous this year.  HAVA-Honored American Veterans Afield,  will be joining the Rendezvous, and will be the new beneficiary of the big raffle on Saturday night.  This year, Rendezvous attendees will have the opportunity to share their shooting range time and firearms with veterans who enjoy shooting activities; an exciting opportunity!

Ruger has been a generous sponsor for GBR in years past, and they have jumped in again this year with a very generous donation.  This new MK III Hunter is safely stored away in a secret location awaiting the trip to Reno in September.  One lucky person will win this fine firearm (among a host other valuable prizes) at the raffle on Saturday night at the Rendezvous.

Zeke of the Engineering Johnson blog will be bringing an identical pistol to the Rondy for all to try at the range.  Keep an eye on Kevin's blog, Mr. Completely, and Engineering Johnson for updates.  Registration will open soon, and it's not too early to make your travel plans.

Dateline: Reno!

The fun has begun! The first arrivals hit the Reno Cabela's store today and everyone scored a box of CCI Mini-Mags. After lunch they headed to Fernley for some Cowboy Action Shooting.

Friday is the NRA Breakfast, rifle and pistol shooting out to 900 yards, Show and Tell, and dinner sponsored by Gunlawsbystate.com and Brian Ciyou. After dinner, Brian, and other industry people will be visiting with the bloggers, and then there will be an indoor shooting match with an OCAT System. The Optical Computer Aided Training Simulator from Outwest systems, uses real guns shooting lasers instead of bullets. An OCAT System will be awarded to one of the competitors by random drawing!
