You've got me with "Step down into a..." Sounds like an advertising slogan.

As far as the Model T, to be sure I'd have to cheat and ask my neighbor who has one; but I'll say "spark" and "throttle", not necessarily in that order...

I was actually wrong on No. 10; I had guessed, "Clem Kadiddlehopper".

Step down into a Hudson! Dad had a black 1951 Hornet, and I drove a 1951 Pacemaker when I was in high school. They were tanks.

Model Ts had the spark lever on the left, and the throttle on the right. If you forgot to retard the spark by moving the lever up, the crank would remind you by breaking your arm. One of my uncles wrapped his thumb around the crank, and when his T kicked back, it jerked him into the radiator, breaking his jaw. The trick was to pull the crank with only your fingers, and to have your arm out of the way if the crank spun backwards. If you don't do it right the crank hits you on the back of the wrist. Ouch.
