Lisa went to St. Louis today for her follow-up appointment at VSS. She checked out OK, but is going to stay on meds for a while in case of residual infection in her bones. As we left St. Louis we were behind a load of walnut logs. That was a nice treat.

gunstock material?
Although many of the logs have some sweep and crook, I think most of that load is going to be sliced for veneer. Standards are easier nowadays than 30 years ago, especially for walnut. I also see that the bottom log at the front of the load is a white oak, and that convinced me that these logs are probably going on a boat to be sliced overseas.
