I would consider a 44 Mag carbine just so I could shoot up the 44 Mag ammo I have. I have to shoot my 44 pistol left handed as my right elbow will stop working if I shoot right handed. I can still shoot hot 44 Special and light 44 mag rounds but my typical 44 mag loads that I did 20+ years ago are too much for me now.

Full power 357 rounds hurt unprotected ears more than 44. They make a high pitched ping that never goes away. I load all my 44s down a bit so they are easy to shoot, and still plenty powerful since I don't live in big bear country. 44s make raccoons instantly dead, and will punch an armadillo from one end to the other. The tail might twitch once. I messed up an elbow years ago, and that is why we use a hydraulic splitter for firewood! My 44 Mag birdshead Vaquero goes by the name of Towser.
