One of my sisters was an ER nurse and one evening she witnessed a gentleman that shot his manhood off that had to be reattached.

He was practicing his quick draw with his gun inside the waistband and no holster.

Skeeter Skelton used to recommend waistband carry of single action revolvers when you didn't have time to strap on a holster, and I've done that around the homestead several times. I've always felt secure with Single-Six or Blackhawk doing that, but never stuck my Redhawk in my waist, and I don't do it with autos, either.
