I have a friend that was an Air Force brat in the late 50's, living in England. He and his family lived off base, down the street from a brewery. He said they had a fleet of Fodens to deliver the barrels of beer to the pubs Monday thru Saturday. Saturday afternoon was his favorite time. They would line up the trucks and flush out all the boilers. The water would fly in water fights and the ashes and cinders would rush down the gutters of the streets. Since the trucks were almost cold, he was also allowed to climb over, under, and all around while getting an education on steam powered trucks.
A lucky guy.
