Heli-Crop Dusting

 I got lucky today and enjoyed a bit of an air show. The pilot wasn't happy with the nurse truck being parked on the road next to the distribution line, and he had the driver move down the road. There still was a lot of flying close to the lines.

I didn't know how they did that.

The internet says that the rotorwash works like an airblast sprayer and distribute the spray chemicals to more area of the plant than conventional fixed wing spraying does.

John, I think that is correct. I was almost head-on with a turbo prop duster this evening, and the wingtip vortices make the product do a roll at both sides of the path.
