What species of trees are the ones in the background in the direction the tree fell?

Nice straight trunks. Small side limbs at 90 degrees from the trunk?

Joe, I think you are seeing baldcypress. We have quite a few of them. All of the planted trees behind the barn were placed in the ground by Susan. She rode the planter and I drove the old John Deere B, sometime in the early 90s. The ash trees where I am cutting was planted in 1976. We hadn't been married a year yet, and we were sticking trees in the ground.
