Ruger's Auction To Benefit The USA Shooting Team

Ruger's auction this week is a 1985 Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum that was returned to the factory.  It has a U added to the serial number to indicate that it is a used gun.  It looks good and the bidding is already up over $800.  This fine revolver will sell mid-day, Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Click Here or on the photo to read all about it and to place your bid.  100% of the proceeds of this auction will go to benefit the USA Shooting team.

$810, 18 bids.

must-remind-self Fed excise tax applies and local sales tax on both... (about another $150 at this level...)

And the SCQueen just surprised me with a bit of un-obtainium... So... arrrgh.. want to support USA Shooting as well!!!

Dang I wish I'd seen this about 12 hours from now....

I think the Pitman-Robertson excise tax is 11% on long guns and 10% on handguns. I think the tax is figured on the price the manufacturer sells to distributors. I don't know if it is figured on the price of the gun when it was manufactured, or what the price would be now. Buyers will find out the cost when they win, because Ruger can't ship it until they have you check for the tax. You also have to figure the transfer fee at your FFL. It pays to check that out in advance. One of the shops I visit does transfers for $25, another charges $30.
