I removed what was left of a red elm on my son's property last Sunday. The derecho knocked it down last summer and boy did it dull the chain, and fast. Good thing I've watched your videos, except I forgot the file (among other things I needed that day) at home.

Yep, red elm is tough wood, and it doesn't begin to rot immediately like American elm. I just put new chains on a couple saws yesterday, and am going to tackle a rebuild today on our 359. We have a new cylinder and piston for it, and I hope I can swap the parts without screwing up. We are having a good time watching the goslings and parents this morning.
