...because it is illegal in Illinois. If Chicago politicians don't like it, it must be good! It is a great product, made by Americans, for Americans! All of the video reviews I have seen so far show this new model to be a reliable firearm at a great price.

I had one of the earlier Hi-points. It worked fine until you cleaned it. After that it was feed and stove pipe problems. I quickly traded that gun for a Ruger.
Nothing says high quality dependability like a pot metal slide, prone to breaking in half at the ejection port. Mmmmmmm high velocity slide for breakfast. Mmmmmm....
I agree with tsquared about the Ruger. I have (and feed them every(any)thing including handloads) three 10s (including the Wyoming Arms Parker) and find the SR1911 Model 6739 the most consistent, though I've never fired a Hi-Point in 10.
